In partnership with the West Bend Community Foundation, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and Washington County, Forward Careers has launched the Childcare Advancement Readiness Employment (CARE) program, offering a structured work experience combined with professional training in Early Childhood Development!

The CARE program offers an incredible opportunity for individuals residing in zip codes 53090, 53095, and 53037 to gain hands-on experience in early childhood education. This work experience program is perfect for both new hires and current employees of childcare providers.

Program Details

Work Experience: Participants may work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week for a total of up to 350 hours. They will earn a minimum of $15.00 per hour, with wages paid directly through the employer’s payroll.

Quality Training: Participants will receive occupational skills training from Moraine Park Technical College or 4C – For Children, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality care.

Employer Benefits: Employers will receive wage reimbursements for offering participants a supportive environment where they can learn while they earn.

This program gives participants an excellent foundation in early childhood education while providing valuable support to local employers.

Must be 17 years and older

Must reside in 53090 (West Bend), 53095 (West Bend), and 53037 (Jackson)

Must pass a childcare worker background check
