Thanks to Kathy Wolfe, Program Manager, Forward Careers is excited to announce our involvement in a groundbreaking initiative to strengthen early childhood education in Washington County. In collaboration with the West Bend Community Foundation, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and Washington County, we are launching the Childcare Advancement Readiness Employment (CARE) program, funded by a $400,000 investment.
Cindy Simons, President & CEO of Forward Careers, highlighted the program’s significance, "Our goal is to empower childcare professionals with the skills they need to succeed. Through the CARE program, we’re offering up to 350 hours of paid training to help both new and current childcare workers gain essential certifications, all at no cost. This initiative not only benefits individual career growth but also supports local providers by ensuring they have a qualified, ready workforce."
Simons further emphasized the program's broader impact, "By addressing the workforce shortage in childcare, we’re not just filling jobs- we’re creating career pathways that uplift both individuals and the community. Employers can now focus on quality care, while we handle the financial barriers to workforce development."
The CARE program is set to transform the local childcare sector by providing education and training to those looking to enter or advance in early childhood education, benefiting the entire community for years to come.
